Is it a Good Idea to Write a Book? Yes! Writing a nonfiction book is a smart move whether you're a yoga teacher, an herbalist, psychologist, doctor or any type of health and wellness expert. You can share what you know with a wider audience, establish yourself as a thought leader, make an impact and grow your brand. You Can Use Your Book: •To help readers transform their lives in a positive way. •To educate your clients or patients about your method, plan or program. Instead of giving each one handwritten instructions, you can give them a complete approach from A to Z. •To land interview requests about your subject matter whether it’s for print, radio, the internet, podcasts or TV. This further establishes you as an expert and builds your presence as a thought leader. •To supersize your content. You can use and repurpose book content for speeches, blog posts, articles, newsletters, in person and on-line courses. • To help you land speaking gigs. Defining who you are, what you do and what you believe in through your book makes it easier for people to find and book you. •To give in-person workshops in your hometown, at universities, associations, green companies, organizations. Bonus you can sell your book to participants too. •To book consulting gigs with people or organizations who want to know what you know and learn what you have to teach them. Maybe you can teach Buddhist stress reduction techniques or mindfulness meditation to accountants or lawyers or business people. •And of course, The Big Kahuna: To get booked for a Ted Talk and boost your visibility, way, way up!

1:1 Monthly Book Coaching & Editing Packages
Keep in mind that these packages cover the most important aspects of writing a non-fiction book but can be adapted to meet your specific needs. I've noted the average time it takes to complete each part but this may be more or less time than you need in order to meet your goals depending on how much time you can devote to the process.
Part ONE: The Roadmap
Start here if you need to clarify and formulate your method or plan or if you’re struggling with what content to include, structure, tone and defining your audience. This is also for you if you’re stuck or need to completely reimagine and rewrite your book. Putting a roadmap into place saves you time and energy. In Part ONE you will:
-
Define your idea, method, or plan so it’s clear, concise and takes readers on a transformational journey.
-
Create a structure and narrative design that serves your mission and the reader’s needs.
-
Define your ideal reader.
-
Decide on the book’s tone and voice.
-
Get guidance, feedback, and inspiration so that your foundation is solid, and you can move from idea to manuscript with confidence.
-
Gain a better understanding of the publishing marketplace and where your book fits in. Average duration: 1-2 months.
Part TWO: The Proposal
Once you’ve defined your idea, the structure and tone, you’ll write a book proposal that is designed to dazzle publishers. In Part TWO, you’ll:
-
Create a book proposal that attracts the attention of agents and book publishers who will invest in you and your book project.
-
Get guidance, feedback, and direction on the must-have elements of a winning book proposal (including a sample chapter) and how to make your content shine.
-
Examples of book proposals that sold to publishers.
-
Regular deadlines so that you can manage your time along with accountability and support. Average duration: 2-3 months.
If you plan to self-publish you can skip this step and go to straight to Part Three although a book proposal can help you clarify your goals and content and enable you to write faster and more easily.
DISCLAIMER: I can’t guarantee that your book proposal will result in an offer of representation, a publishing contract, or sales but it will represent your idea, method or plan and your expertise in the best way possible. What I will do is support you in writing your best book.
Part THREE: The Pitch
Once you have finished writing your book proposal, it’s time to approach agents and publishers. In Part THREE, you’ll learn how to:
-
Research agents and publishers.
-
Write a query letter that sells.
-
Create a list of agents to pitch who have a track record of selling books like yours to traditional publishers.
-
Create a strategic plan for which agents to pitch in what order, how to find the best match for you and your book, and how to respond to offers of representation, comments, and rejections. Average duration: 1-2 months.
Part FOUR: The Manuscript
Whether you have a contract to write your book or are self-publishing Part FOUR is a combination of developmental editing and book coaching, a thorough and complete process that will help you revise your manuscript so that it’s ready for publication. Part FOUR ensures that the:
-
Content is clear, engaging, and actionable and aligns with your message and goals.

-
